The brief for this project was to demolish an existing hospice located at the Ability Centre's Bradford Street site and construct new supported accommodation dwellings for existing clients along with supporting community facilities such as a central activity space and a studio workshop.
The design needed to accommodate the needs of the end users, people with disabilities, but we also needed to ensure we created a domestic homelike atmosphere. The planning sought to capture and maximise the site's unique elevation and outlook onto the adjacent Yokine Reserve.
